Day 50: 54, 299 Words!

Okay, confession time:

I was really, really slow with writing today (I started at the beginning of 8pm and just finished about 5 minutes ago at about 9:10 or so). I even stopped a few times to catch my stream of thought before it wandered away.

But I found my pacing again. How? Simple. I stopped thinking so much and just wrote. Lately I’ve noticed that I’ve gotten more into description (which, trust me, I need to work on sometimes when I’m really into a story) and dialogue is an awesome way of advancing the plot and answering any questions a reader might have in the future.

What’s also great is the realization that sometimes stories create themselves just as much as I write them, simply because what I plan sometimes changes slightly as I’m writing (and for the better.)

So, despite having misgivings as I started writing, I found my rhythm again and quickly reached my goal.

So excited!

By the way, my friend just recently started writing again! She began her day with 1,200 words. I’m super proud of her and all of you fellow writers out there!

Happy reading/writing!
